Vaubren is a European defence technology company developing aircraft, command software, sensing and electronic warfare as one integrated system, with a person in command of every use of force. Our engineering team is based in Bulgaria, inside the European Union and NATO.
The role
You will build the quality and compliance foundations Vaubren needs to deliver to defence customers: documented processes, controlled configurations and a clear path to qualification and certification. The hard problem is a system rigorous enough for aerospace quality standards and airworthiness authorities, yet light enough that a fast engineering team uses it every day instead of working around it. You will own it from the first procedure to the external audit.

What you will do
- Design and run a quality management system suited to defence and aerospace work, built towards standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100
- Own configuration management, document control and change control across hardware and software
- Build quality into design and test through design reviews, failure analysis, first article inspection and clear acceptance criteria
- Run supplier quality, from qualification and audits to incoming inspection
- Coordinate qualification, airworthiness and certification work with authorities and specialist advisers
- Lead internal audits, root cause analysis and corrective actions, and make sure they close
What you bring
- Typically 6+ years in quality engineering for aerospace, defence or other regulated hardware
- Hands-on experience implementing ISO 9001 or AS9100, not only maintaining it
- A strong grasp of configuration management and technical documentation
- Root cause analysis methods such as 8D and failure modes and effects analysis
- The confidence to raise issues early and the communication skills to resolve them with engineers

Nice to have
- Military or civil airworthiness and uncrewed aircraft certification
- NATO quality requirements such as AQAP 2110
- Knowledge of EU export control rules
- Software quality and safety standards such as DO-178C
