Senior RF and Electronic Warfare Engineer
Own the radio detection, location and disruption chain at the heart of Stillpoint.
About Vaubren
Vaubren is a European defence technology company developing aircraft, command software, sensing and electronic warfare as one integrated system, with a person in command of every use of force. Our engineering team is based in Bulgaria, inside the European Union and NATO.
The role
You will develop the radio-frequency systems that let Stillpoint and Headland detect and locate the radio links hostile drones depend on and, when an operator decides, disrupt them. The hard problem is finding small, agile signals in a crowded spectrum, locating them precisely and acting only on the right link, with the least effect on everything else. You will work from antenna to signal processing to field trial, always under the right authorisations.
Why this role
- You own the technical core of a product, from antenna to what the operator sees
- Counter-drone electronic warfare is urgent work for Europe, done responsibly, with a person in command of every action
- A short loop from the lab bench to an authorised field trial
What you will do
- Own receive and transmit chains built on software-defined radios, from architecture and cascade analysis to tested hardware
- Develop signal processing that detects and classifies drone control, telemetry and video links in real spectrum
- Build direction finding and geolocation that hold up with multipath, interference and moving targets
- Develop precise, narrowly targeted disruption techniques that keep the operator in control and stay within the law
- Integrate radios, antennas, amplifiers and filters into rugged, portable equipment with tight size, weight and power limits
- Plan and run spectrum measurements and field trials under the right authorisations, and turn the data into design changes
What you bring
- Typically 6+ years in RF engineering, communications or signal processing, with hardware you built in real use
- Hands-on depth with software-defined radios and RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers, signal generators and vector network analysers
- Strong C++ or Python for real-time signal processing
- A sound grasp of RF system design: noise figure, linearity, dynamic range, filtering and antenna behaviour
- Respect for spectrum regulation and a careful, documented approach to transmitting in the field
- Eligibility for national security vetting where the work requires it
If you meet most of these points but not all, we still encourage you to apply.
Nice to have
- Electronic warfare, spectrum monitoring or counter-drone experience
- FPGA development for signal processing
- Direction finding methods such as angle of arrival or time difference of arrival
- Knowledge of EU and national radio spectrum regulation

Meet the people you would work with, in person in Bulgaria where possible.
- 05
Offer
Responsibilities, compensation and start date, agreed in writing.
Security and eligibility
Some roles involve work that is subject to security vetting and export control. Where a role requires it, we explain the process early, and an offer may depend on eligibility for national security clearance. You do not need a clearance to apply.
Vaubren is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from everyone with the skills for the role, whatever their background. If you need an adjustment during the hiring process, tell us and we will make it.
